On August 20, it was announced via Deadline that debut author Crystal Smith, had her fantasy novel Bloodleaf optioned as a series for television.
According to the article Cavalry Media, a Los Angeles-based media company, acquired the rights to Smith’s novel.
The other piece of information announced regarding the adaptation, is that they are now on the look-out for a writer.
Jennifer Bosari, overseer for the project, was hired last fall as one of Cavalry‘s VPs in development.
Cavalry Media was founded by Dana Brunetti and Keegan Rosenberger.
