Stephanie Garber Announces ‘Once Upon A Broken Heart’ Book 3 Title

On December 13, Stephanie Garber revealed through Instagram, the title of the third and final book in her NYT Bestselling Once Upon A Broken Heart series which will be called A Curse For True Love, which will be releasing September 2023!

Evangeline Fox has grown up believing in true love, happy endings and the legends about immortals like the Prince Of Hearts. But, when she learns the love of her life will marry someone else, she turns to the prince for help.

Brief plot details reveal that the finale will contain as follows: “Two villains do battle for the heart of one girl in A CURSE FOR TRUE LOVE, the deadly conclusion of the #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling Once Upon A Broken Heart trilogy.”

Additionally, through her post Garber also stated “I hope you all love the title! I’m really excited that it’s no longer a secret and that I’ll get to share even more about this book in the upcoming months!”

‘The Ballad Of Never After’ by Stephanie Garber Cover Reveal

As of February 23, Paste Magazine exclusively revealed the sequel cover to Stephanie Garber’s instant #1 NYT Bestseller Once Upon A Broken Heart which is titled The Ballad Of Never After.

In this spin-off series to Caraval, readers follow Evangeline Fox who after learning the love of her life will marry another, strikes a deal with the Prince Of Hearts, Jacks, which could mean taking part in a far more dangerous game than she’s realized.

According to the article, the sequel will pick up immediately “following the shocking events at the end of the first book, as Evangeline reels from a deeply personal betrayal and tries to figure out whether she’ll ever truly have a chance at a happily ever after.”

Alongside the cover reveal was a mini Q&A with Garber in which she shares that she views Broken Heart as “a wounded fairytale saga where all the characters are searching for love and some of them are willing to fight much dirtier than others.”

When asked what can be expected from this continuation Garber revealed readers will “find out more about our characters, more about the world, and as far as romance goes . . . let’s just say that if Ballad were to have a warning label on the back, it might read something like: Caution: this book contains, bloodshed, love, and heartbreak. As of October 15, Reese’s Book Club revealed the sequel cover to Emiko Jean’s 2021 NYT Bestselling novel Tokyo Ever After through Twitter. The forthcoming second book titled Tokyo Dreaming is slated for a May 2022 release!

The first novel follows Izumi Tanaka an ordinary girl who soon discovers clues to her father’s identity, leading her to realize he is a crown prince, making Izzy a princess. On March 11, Frolic revealed the cover to Stephanie Garber’s newest series, with the first book being titled, Once Upon A Broken Heart.

Set in the same world as Caraval, readers will follow Evangeline Fox who grew up hearing legends about immortals, like the Prince Of Hearts. So when she learns the love of her life is marrying someone else, she turns to the Prince for help.

Alongside the cover reveal was an interview with Garber and a Q&A about this upcoming novel.

” I’m always looking for a good love story, but my favorite love stories are the ones that have a little teeth—and that’s probably how I would describe this book…” Garber mentioned when asked about what readers can expect.

Garber commented on the cover as well saying “when I saw this cover—with the shining gold heart and the black smoke cutting through—I knew it was absolutely perfect.” She sees the cover as “something beautiful and broken” and believes its “fitting” for the book.

Garber’s newest series has been pitched as featuring “love, curses, and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after.”

Stephanie Garber Announces New Series Set In The Caraval World

As of December 11, Stephanie Garber, author of the New York Times Bestselling Caraval Series revealed through Instagram, the title of her newest novel which will be releasing in 2021 called Once Upon A Broken Heart!

Garber also mentioned over the course of four days from December 8 through 11, that her upcoming novel will be set in the same world as Caraval, she continued to state through her post that the story will follow “a brand-new protagonist, Evangeline Fox, who is foolish enough to make a deal with everyone’s favorite Prince of Hearts.”

She revealed even more details in her fourth post mentioning that this novel will “answer…questions” as to what happened to the character of Jacks (Prince of Hearts) after the events of Finale.

No other information was announced other than it having a Fall 2021 release date and that there’s a cover reveal to come.

On The Booked Shelf I’m highlighting some YA books releasing in July that you don’t want to miss!

Young Adult Book Cover Reveals For Late April and Early May!

Throughout the past month, there have been some fantastic cover reveals for upcoming Young Adult books! Today on The Booked Shelf we’ll be highlighting some from the end of April through May so far!

1.White Fox by Sara Faring

Originally revealed on April 31 via Tor, was the cover for Sara Faring’s next eerie, thriller novel titled White Fox! Cover art by is done Shane Rebenschied and design by Carolyn Bull. Here’s a full summary:

2. Tales From The Hinterland by Melissa Albert

On May 6, Tor revealed the cover alongside an excerpt for Albert’s return to The Hazel Wood titled, Tales From The Hinterland. Alongside the cover reveal was also an excerpt.

This novel will follow 12 original stories that serve as “twisted backstories to all its fairy-tale characters.” Cover art and design is done by Jim Tierney. Here’s the full summary:

3. These Feathered Flames by Alexandra Overy

Revealed through Hypable also on May 6, was the cover to “queer #ownvoices fantasy re-imagining of the Russian folktale The Firebird” titled These Feathered Flames. Alongside the cover reveal was also an excerpt. The cover was illustrated by Marisa Aragón Ware. Here’s a full summary:

4. Down Comes The Night by Allison Saft

Revealed through Saft’s Twitter on May 6, was the cover for her gothic/wintry & romanctic fantasy debut titled Down Comes The Night. The cover designer is Olga Grlic. Here’s the full summary:

Caraval by Stephanie Garber Is Getting A Collector’s Edition

On March 27, Stephanie Garber revealed through her Instagram, that Caraval would be getting a Collector’s edition.

It will be packaged in a new cover and slipcase, contain exclusive bonus content including a scene from Julian’s POV, the original ending, pages straight from her writing journals, and a sneak peek of her upcoming book.

Garber even mentioned that on the cover of the case, it will have a die-cut keyhole. Below is a glimpse into the new edition. For INTL folks looking to get the edition, its available for pre-order through The Book Depository!
