On March 11, Frolic revealed the cover to Stephanie Garber’s newest series, with the first book being titled, Once Upon A Broken Heart.
Set in the same world as Caraval, readers will follow Evangeline Fox who grew up hearing legends about immortals, like the Prince Of Hearts. So when she learns the love of her life is marrying someone else, she turns to the Prince for help.
Alongside the cover reveal was an interview with Garber and a Q&A about this upcoming novel.
” I’m always looking for a good love story, but my favorite love stories are the ones that have a little teeth—and that’s probably how I would describe this book…” Garber mentioned when asked about what readers can expect.
Garber commented on the cover as well saying “when I saw this cover—with the shining gold heart and the black smoke cutting through—I knew it was absolutely perfect.” She sees the cover as “something beautiful and broken” and believes its “fitting” for the book.
Garber’s newest series has been pitched as featuring “love, curses, and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after.”
Cover artist is Erin Fitzsimmons and art director is Keith Hayes. Garber is a New York Times and Sunday Times Bestselling author.
Evangeline Fox was raised in her beloved father’s curiosity shop, where she grew up on legends about immortals, like the tragic Prince of Hearts. She knows his powers are mythic, his kiss is worth dying for, and that bargains with him rarely end well.
But when Evangeline learns that the love of her life is about to marry another, she becomes desperate enough to offer the Prince of Hearts whatever he wants in exchange for his help to stop the wedding. The prince only asks for three kisses.
But after Evangeline’s first promised kiss, she learns that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she’s pledged. And he has plans for Evangeline that will either end in the greatest happily ever after, or the most exquisite tragedy…
Once Upon A Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber is set to be released September 28, 2021!
