Because she still can’t figure out what happened that horrible night when Mina, the third in their tight-knit trio, jumped to her death. Or if the dark and otherworldly secrets she and Candie were keeping had something to do with it . . .

But the workshop doesn’t bring the answers Sunny had hoped for, nor a happy reunion with Candie. Instead, Sunny finds herself haunted by ghostly visions while strange injuries start happening to her competitors—followed by even stranger mutilations to their bodies. In her race to survive, Sunny will have to expose just who is behind the carnage—and if Candie is out for blood once more!

A Lesson In Vengeance by Victoria Lee Cover Reveal

On November 18, Victoria Lee revealed the cover to A Lesson In Vengeance via Tor. Her upcoming sapphic, dark academia horror novel has a Summer 2021 release!

The novel has been pitched as a “dark, twisty, atmospheric thriller about a boarding school haunted by its history of witchcraft and two girls dangerously close to digging up the past.”

Felicity Morrow returns to the Dalloway school, however she finds herself drawn to a new student by the name of Ellis Haley, a prodigy novelist. So, when Ellis asks for Felicity’s help in researching the history behind an intriguing group of students, Felicity will soon find herself digging up and facing a mysterious past.

Alongside the cover reveal was a Q&A where Lee discussed what she was bringing to dark academia as someone who has a Ph.D in dark academic literature, the importance of navigating Queer sexuality, and even writing her main female characters who are “selfish and shortsighted and obsessive and sometimes callous.”

Cover artist is Maggie Enterrios and designer is Regina Flath.

Felicity Morrow is back at Dalloway School.

Perched in the Catskill mountains, the centuries-old, ivy-covered campus was home until the tragic death of her girlfriend. Now, after a year away, she’s returned to graduate. She even has her old room in Godwin House, the exclusive dormitory rumored to be haunted by the spirits of five Dalloway students—girls some say were witches. The Dalloway Five all died mysteriously, one after another, right on Godwin grounds.

Witchcraft is woven into Dalloway’s history. The school doesn’t talk about it, but the students do. In secret rooms and shadowy corners, girls convene. And before her girlfriend died, Felicity was drawn to the dark. She’s determined to leave that behind her now; all Felicity wants is to focus on her senior thesis and graduate. But it’s hard when Dalloway’s occult history is everywhere. And when the new girl won’t let her forget.

It’s Ellis Haley’s first year at Dalloway, and she’s already amassed a loyal following. A prodigy novelist at seventeen, Ellis is a so-called “method writer.” She’s eccentric and brilliant, and Felicity can’t shake the pull she feels to her. So when Ellis asks Felicity for help researching the Dalloway Five for her second book, Felicity can’t say no. Given her history with the arcane, Felicity is the perfect resource.

And when history begins to repeat itself, Felicity will have to face the darkness in Dalloway–and in herself.

A Lesson In Vengeance by Victoria Lee is set to be released on August 3, 2021!

Gearbreakers by Zoe Hana Mikuta Cover Reveal

As of September 14, Fierce Reads revealed the cover to Zoe Hana Mikuta’s 2021 sci-fi mecha debut novel titled Gearbreakers!

In this cyberpunk novel featuring 200-ft mecha deities and two girls ready to take them down from the inside out, the reader meets Sona and Eris who find themselves teaming up to destroy a tyrannical rule from within.

Hana Mikuta has pitched her novel as “enemies-to-lovers cyberpunk sapphics who like tattooing one another.”

In the blog post, she had this to say about the Gearbreakers cover, “the girls look amazing, and terrifying, and ready to take down a deity or two. Sona’s sword and cyborg eye, Eris’s cryogloves and signature welding goggles…I cannot accurately describe the degree of excitement and love I have for seeing two Asian girls on the cover of a YA science fiction novel.”

She continued to state that seeing her main character Sona on the cover who is half-Korean and half-white just like her “quite literally made [her] burst into tears of joy.”

The cover artist is Taj Francis.

Two girls on opposite sides of a war discover they’re fighting for a common purpose—and falling for each other—in Zoe Hana Mikuta’s high-octane debut Gearbreakers, perfect for fans of Pacific Rim, Pierce Brown’s Red Rising Saga, and Marie Lu’s Legend series.

We went past praying to deities and started to build them instead...

Eris Shindanai is a Gearbreaker, a brash young rebel who specializes in taking down Windups from the inside. When one of her missions goes awry and she finds herself in a Godolian prison, Eris meets Sona Steelcrest, a cybernetically enhanced Windup pilot. At first Eris sees Sona as her mortal enemy, but Sona has a secret: She has intentionally infiltrated the Windup program to destroy Godolia from within.

As the clock ticks down to their deadliest mission yet, a direct attack to end Godolia’s reign once and for all, Eris and Sona grow closer—as comrades, friends, and perhaps something more…
